I really like the atmosphere of this piece, it's very nicely done and the background colors are subtle enough that they don't overpower the focus of the piece while still giving it a bit more variation to keep it interesting x3

I like the brushstrokes, especially on the foreground trees. It has a nice Impressionist feel as said above.

Hey guys! This is my first oekaki :) Well, actually I have done one or two some years ago, but I never published them because they were so bad xD This was a lot of fun, because of the beautiful colors of the image, the tree's bark and leaves.

Hello all! So, this is the first Oekaki drawing I've done in....gosh, 7 or 8 years? And I don't have a tablet--this was all done with a mouse (and a crappy one, at that >__O), so please don't be too harsh :)

I'm not sure what it is about this, but it has a kind of a magical feeling in it :o At least to me.

And now for the critique, I'm not a pro, not even near, and what I say is not an absolute truth but just my opinions.

That single green blob in the tree (background one) is a little disturbing.
Also, there might be a little bit too much halftone pattern in the tree on the foreground. And you could also try using some different shades of colors everywhere around the picture, give it more variety and contrast or the colors will look flat. Be brave, play with the colors (I should learn to do that too)! I hope this made any sense :)

But considering it's drawn with a mouse it's pretty nice overall. Maybe the best picture I ever saw drawn with one.

I know this isn't how the picture looked, but I wanted to experiment with the colors of the trees. I ended up adding the halftone, which I'm sure some will object to, but I feel that it adds a crisp, clear quality to the scene. The mixture of textures and mediums really speaks to me. GIVE ME CRIT!
