Alright. It is finished.

Am not happy with the foreground stuff... but the character and background cloudy swirly vortex-y stuff turned out rather nice.

Character is actually one of my originals, the color scheme just reminds me a LOT of Illidan (yes, from Warcraft).

And whoever woke him up is now cursing the day they were born.

Lady Sathrah was once beloved of Elune. Graceful and pure, the spider spun her silver threads through the moonlight, catching the evening mist. The silvery dew had strong healing powers and was kept in the Temple of the Moon.

But of late, Sathrah has descended into madness. Her future generations are now threatened as well. Young heroes are bid to find Lady Sathrah and end her suffering. The forest will mourn for Lady Sathrah, but it is something that has to be done. The hero must bring her silvery spinnerets back to Priestess A'moora in the Temple of the Moon at Darnassus.

This Elunite priestess will order the young hero to take the spinnerets and offer Lady Sathrah's sacrifice to Elune; lay the great spider to rest.

The holy waters of the temple will purify and cleanse the corruption that drives Sathrah mad. With this sacrifice, Elune will bless Sathrah so that she is reborn, and at peace

Auldwyn. the Night Elf Rogue about to face off with Lady Sathrah, the corrupted Spider.

The colours on this are nice - very fresh. ^^ I think it would probably look better if you used the same painterly effect on the face and had a bit more detail work, but otherwise 'tis a pretty picture. Cute details on the shoes and pants!

Very nice design of a knight. I absolutely love the wispy quality of the dragon.
I think you could make it much more powerful by adding more contrast to it. Right now all the colors sort of melt together. Specially on his face.
Some nice dark shadows on the armor with crisp lines will help you get that metallic feel to it. A bit of rim lighting on the armor will also help separate you knight from his background.
The yellow portion also makes your lovely dragon disappear a little.
Its looking great though, and i can't wait to see the finished piece.

@ Tish, indeed, one of my favoutire artists, Mike "Hellboy" Mignola, has made a a simple yet intriguing black and white of the witch:

In the comic, she's calling the dead, skeletal arms portrude trough the ground and she counts every boney finger sticking out, while passing by, flying on her wooden "steed", quite a strong image :)

I do kinda base my dragon's heads on horses and other large mammals...and alligators sometimes. haha. I agree with you on the wings Kaedi, but I did this without any references so I just had to make them up. Ah well. He's magical. :P

I just love the texture on her dress. Makes it look all skin-y (Ah, horrible pun not intended >.>) What I'm trying to say, is that it looks as if her dress is made of raw animal hair 8D *ahem* Anyways, it's also quite remarkable how the background is calmer and paler than the rest, making everything look foggy 'cept the characters, that are clear as a daylight 8D

Great colors, great mood. having the very smooth and detailed dragon contrast with the loose, stylish clouds is nice. I only see two areas where it could be better, and maybe that's just because I'm missing something: 1) the dragon does not cast a shadow on the clouds, which makes it not seem as "there." 2) the tail is by and large undetailed but for one section, between the right forearm and the head, which seems weird to me! Thous now that I go back it looks like you were trying to fix that but couldn't. Anyway, great pic! Great dragon :D

I really like the way you did the lines. They're almost invisible.

Very nice shading. I like the dragon's face especially. And the orange sky is pretty. =D

My only critique would be that the elf-person's neck/shoulder area seems a little awkward anatomically -- but it's really not that bad. It's a hard angle to draw. I like his hair and facial features, though.

The png of this looks *so* much better. The texturing on the dragon's skin really shows up in it.

And as far as dragon anatomy goes...I think you did alright. You can really do a lot of different things with dragons. I think you could have define the shapes of the wings a little bit more, like you did on the face. But aside from that, it's lovely.
