Yes, I've read Chi's Sweet Home and other cat mangas dozen of times but no, I haven't copied this from anywhere (I've practiced drawing many, many years) and yes, comics have had an influence on my drawings.

If you want to imagine that there's a point in this picture, it would be that cats are just cute.

I was reading this article about a cat who got hit by a car and had his front paws paralyzed and his owner decided to enroll him in Hydrotherapy to hopefully help him walk again. I felt inspired by the photo so I drew it. This is Mog swimming.

It was a very challenging photo- I don't do water very well but I think this turned out fairly ok.
