So after my Graphire 3 WACOM decided to give up the ghost my activity here fell to 0. Coincidence? I have finally gotten around to getting a new WACOM (actually it just took giving my boyfriend the puppy eyes over extended periods of time) and I am as happy as a mouse in a cheese factory. It's a gorgeous white, medium sized, WACOM Bamboo fun. And, oh is it fun. The first thing I noticed was that it had a glowing, pulsating, blue circle thingy to show you that it was on...*ooo pretty*...and after I was done giggling like a schoolgirl I noticed the paper like texture when I used my pen on it. It feels incredibly natural compared to the slick surface the old blue devil had (my Graphire 3).

Anyways...I did not always go by this username. I recently had it changed for personal reasons (Thank you MadHatter!).Please, don't go begging MH for a name change too unless you really need one...I really needed this. But if you recognize my old art then "Hello again!"...Can't wait to remeet you and meet for the first time all the new faces. Let's perk this place back up to what it was like in the old hey-days shall we?

Regarding the picture itself, the character is absolutely adorable, and the colours you chose are very smooth and work together well.

I am sooo sorry! I thought I was drawing in the Training Grounds. I hope this Background is enough to save it from oblivion.

So since this is a chibi of me I decided to draw where I..draw. Two family members were added: Godiva the ball python and Max the Pixie Bob (it is natural that they have a short, bunny-like tail). I'm quite proud of how the shoes came out, of all things. They are my favorite pair of converse with rainbow laces.

Thanks very much for the crit wiesen! i've blended the skin through the whole face and made the tones in the har alot better :) ive aloso made the tones in the finger alot nicer so hopefully it doesnt look so strange now!

Nicely done.
However, the face doesn't really fit with the black background.
It's very light in comparison, which makes it look like it was cut and pasted.
Perhaps go over the face with some black in the darker areas and try to get it to blend more.

I'm sorry, I just tried to retouch, but all i get is a white canvas...
You were right. When I watched the actual photo again, I saw that the right side of the face (from the eyes of the viewer) is as black as the background/left side...
It would maybe make a difference, but I can't retouch it somehow. Is there a trick or something I can do? >_>

Very lovely stuff. This grimey, dirty-looking guy evokes some emotional response to the viewer. It could be due those attention-grabbing, intense eyes looking up at you. I really like the overly exaggerated red nose too.

Cool style. I dig the pale irises. Is it Frank Zappa? Looks like it. Here's a tip: try not to make colors in the foreground the same as the background, or else you'll get "holes" in your picture.

[Edit] Nice, it looks much better now, a lot smoother and cleaner.
As for the retouch problem, try emptying your internet history and don't watch the animation until you are done.
If this still doesn't work, you can post your problem on the message boards and another administrator will figure it out ; D

The bleeding halftone was done on purpose but I edited it out anyway. Also, I redid some of the lineart, such as the arm, and fixed up some badly coloured spots. Is this better?
rgg there's still some things I want to fix but last time I tried the image went back to what it looked like at the start so I don't want to reedit everything again..

Her facial features are fabulous! I love the shape of her lips, nose, and eyes. Nice shading, the rich shadows and shiny skin are great.
