This picture is emulating a technique I recently discovered called paper-cutting. I was just trying to get used to the tools. If this style is not allowed, please tell me. I am also working on another piece that should be up soon that is done in traditional style. I like paper-cutting because you tell the story through color and shapes, leaving details to the imagination.

I would like to add that, while I did spend some time testing the tools, I regard this as an artistic piece and not simply such a test. The rules state that posting such pictures is a violation.

I like it a lot. From the thumbnail it looks like a huge room with pillars and their shadows. It's quite striking, actually.

So yeah, I don't know what possessed me to draw an egg. Just felt like it. The time thingy above is wrooooooooooong. Wrong. No way I'd spend that long on an egg. Blame my ADHD.

Okay so I'm not happy with this at all :/ But it was a quick practice run aaaand by the time I realized the more devastating mistakes (like the eye -koffkoff-) I was too far along to really fix it -___-... I suppose I could have if I was patient. But I'm not, not when it comes to Oekaki.

Another thing, this thing kept lagging to hell xD; I need to do some serious updating.

she has no eyebrows *shot*, but i think the eyes are fine, with a nice 3d quality, and your skin shading is fiiine. :) the centre of the mouth his a teensy bit off, nt I want your colouring skills...

I am loving the solids for the back and foreground, and the hair reminds me of a mermaid. But... the neck seems a shade darker than the rest, and not as well paid attention to as the face(if that makes sense) but i am loving the eyes! hope that helps...

I feel you, man, this room leaves you a little starved for feedback. So I'll just butt my head in and try to help I guess >___>;; at the risk of sounding like a pompous douf

I like how you handled the coloring- it's smooth and soft. And I'm really digging how you handled the cherry branch - the detail of the buds and open flowers. Same thing on the detail of the collar detail.

But now to gloss over improvements, small details to work on.... for anatomy, the neck is a little long and the eye's rather large. The nostrils I think would fit better if you added them the same way you colored in the rest of his body, with a softer opacity so the edges aren't so hard. It'd help them blend better with the nose and face. The highlights in the hair might look better if handled the same way, but I still like the detail of all the flyaway strands. Aaannnd if the necklace has a pouch (as opposed to a gem or something that won't give), adding wrinkles where it pinches at the string would be a good detail.

Soyeah, just a bit of anatomy brushup, but other than that, lovely. Keep practicing :D

This is a character that I'm currently writing a little story-thing about. I tried a lot of new things this time with the shading and I actually drew a pupil in the eye for once. The arm and the hand need work, I realize that. I may retouch. Anyway, comments, critiques, etc are welcome!

sorry for another comment. The hand actually looks quite good! you just need to extend the knuckes out a little bit- because the fingers are different lengths. Right now they're all the same so it looks a little stubby. but other than that its really good :)

Thanks for the tips! I'll be working on that. When I did this sketch on paper the hand was so much better. I just had trouble recreating it via trackpad.
